Metro – Wayfinding – Accessibility

Add your city

Metro4all is an international initiative aimed to provide better transport information for people with special requirements (wheelchair-users, parents with strollers, older people, etc.).

The idea is that these people need detailed information to get better accessible route from point A to point B. To make it work in most cases it’s necessary to:
a) collect accessibility data,
b) present it to them in convenient form.
Both these objectives are well covered by Metro4All data collection methodology and user interfaces.

The web and mobile apps are free and always will be. All the data are open.

We want for more people to benefit from our initiative and add more cities to our service.

In brief adding a new city works like this:
Our team arrives and together with the local partner and help of local volunteers collects data, programs and process everything collected. We typically have a final product (the service up and running with 90-95% of the data) upon leaving the city. For example, the team of 3 people in 5 days can add a metro system 40 stations big.

Add a city

The results typically include:

  • Datasets for all metro stations of the city
  • Running web service to make use of the data, localized
  • Mobile app with the data collected, localized
  • The event is typically followed by some press coverage and rise in attention to the topic of accessibility (for example)

If you believe your city would benefit from joining our initiative, get in touch!.
